Stay on MIT out of state insurance. You pay medical expenses up front, they reimburse. Plans There is rumor that there are Blue Cross/Blue Shield physicians in Geneva.
UNIQA You pay the insurance, and MIT reimburses you some amount equivalent to what they would for an MIT plan in Boston (or something like that). Benefit is UNIQA is a little cheaper, and you don't pay out of pocket so much and wait for reimbursement. To register, you need to have some proof of your previous insurance (my ID card sufficed) and a bank account so you can pay for the insurance.
Bank
French: CP uses Credit Agricole, look at his pages
Swiss: I went to UBS just underneath the tellers in the Main Building. They have a straightforward account with no minimum balance, and you can avoid the SF 7/month mailing charge if you opt for e-banking. Eventually I will get a debit card etc.
