The Home of the Heavy Ion ROOT analysis framework

Goal and Scope

HIROOT is a tool for generator-level studies for CMS Heavy Ion program. It provides a general framework to develop analyses at the particle level. HIROOT builds on ROOT, PROOF and TAM, providing access to many advanced generators, data storage and event mixing. You may find some information about its software design in HIROOT Structure and Design.

Installation Information

The installation process is described in the README which comes with the source code.

Note that HIROOT depends on ROOT v5-08-00 (or higher) and TAM where currently it is required that you stay with the TAM head version. Also it is always recommended to stay closely with the ROOT head version.
